About Y.E.S.

Sponsored by the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Harp Society and founded in Jan. 2014, the purpose of the Silicon Valley Youth Harp Ensemble Success Program (also known as Y.E.S.) is to provide a friendly and musically fun social environment that entices students to learn and share together. Playing in a group inspires students to continue their involvement with music. The Y.E.S. Program is designed to provide sequential and practical goals for students to develop performance skills and music appreciation. The curriculum will also help improve technical development such as ear training, sight-reading skills, music theory, and music history. This is an educational program to encourage students to strive for collaboration with one another and musical excellence.

Requirement: Y.E.S. is an SVCAHS sponsored ensemble not associated with any private studio. Participants must be current students of chapter members and must be approved by their teachers. The student must also be a member of the SVCAHS. (Annual student membership is $10.) The Student is required to provide his/her instrument in the rehearsal and performance.

Committees and Instructors: Sonya Yu, director; Debbi Ricks, Linda Rollo, advisers, and the Board of the SVCAHS
